| Abstract | Every Saturday, thousands of Hong Kongers get their only weekly exercise by carrying the South China Morning Post from the newsstand to the nearest wastepaper basket, removing the classifieds and disposing of them. Even the late Lord Kadoorie did not plant enough trees to provide pulp for one edition of the Classified Post, and the publication holds the title of Hong Kong's Second Biggest Ecological Timebomb - narrowly beaten by China's decision to give the Daya Bay contract to French firm Roy Rogiers et Fils in the early Eighties. With 500 pages and 17 sections, the Classified Post has as much hope of getting airborne as a Chinese satellite. |
