Abstract | China Apollo, which went public on December 19 at $1.50, toppled off the launching pad and was woefully undersubscribed. The underwriters, led by HSBC Corporate Finance, were left to eat most of the stock, which fell to a 22 per cnet discount on the first day of the dealings at $1.17. To most people's surprise, the shares subsequently proved, indeed, to be rocket-propelled, and had doubled in price by soon after Lunar New Year. |
