| Abstract | Adaptation of secondary school textbooks during the transition period have drawn public attention, especially since the publishers started to self-censor. In May 1994, the Preliminary Working Committee's Cultural Sub-group suggested four "basic principles" for textbook publishers. They are: emphasizing nationalism, compliance with the Basic Law, presenting the spirit of the "One-country, Two-systems" model, and reflecting reality. |
