| Abstract | The present study conceptualizes cross-cultural differences in behavior as manifestations of differences in the sets of behavioral rules acquired by different peoples. The process of an individual adapting to a new cultural setting was experimentally simulated by his or her acquiring a new behavioral rule while continuing to execute old rules. The case of an individual exposed to a new culture early or late in life was also simulated. |
