| Abstract | As the transition moves towards a finale, media attention on the territory is hotting up. Incidents like the recent protests during the Preparatory Committee's first public consultations - in which a tyre was burnt in the streets and Chinese offical Lu Ping was besieged by what appeared to be an angry mob of protestors - made international news. But the reality is much more complicated than the version of events presented by most of the English language media both in the territory and internationally. |
