AbstractHong Kong has become a "dumping ground" for cheap overseas brands since the government changed the excise duty structure in 1991 resulting in the number of brands available ballooned to more than 200. In a major attempt to counter the growing threat posed by imported brands, San Miguel Brewery has begun heavily promoting "Lowenbrau Original" beer in Hong Kong.
