Abstract | For her second trip to Beijing in eight months, Hong Kong Chief Secretary Anson Chan Fang On Sang took with her a painting by her mother, the noted artist Fang Zhaoling. Depicting Chinese junks with auspicious characters emblazoned on their sails, it was a gift for Chan's host, China's Hong Kong affairs chief Lu Ping. The work, she told him, represented the hope for "a smooth transition, which is every Hong Kong citizen's wish." |
