| Abstract | The Hong Kong Council of Social Service fully supports the principle of equal opportunities for all. They have submitted written comments on the governmentis consultation paper on Equal Opportunities: A Study on Discrimination on the Ground of Family Status, released in early 1996. They in principle support adopting a legislative approach to enhance equal opportunities in this aspect and also opine that with or without legislation, non-legislative measures should be strengthened to foster equal opportunities for persons of different family status, e.g. through public education, incentives to employment as well as social services, etc. |
