| Abstract | With 60% of the global timber supply coming from Indonesia, the overwhelming bulk of which plywood, the Indonesian government has long recognized the need to establish standards and control over pricing and operation of the timber export industry. It was to this aim that the Indonesian Wood Panel Association (APKINDO) was established in 1976. Plywood Indah (H.K.) Ltd. was subsequently set up in 1988 under the auspicies of APKINDO to act as the sole export trading representative for Indonesia plywood in Hong Kong, China, North Korea and Taiwan. |
