| Abstract | The United States has promised to take steps to lift sanctions imposed on China last year in return for a Chinese undertaking not to export missiles with a range of 300km and a payload of 500kg. An agreement on these terms was signed by Chinese Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister Qian Qichen and American Secretary of State Warren Christopher during Qian's two-day offical visit to the United States. |
