Abstract | The two books, "Yijiujiuwu Runbayue" (T Day, The Warning of Taiwan Strait War) by Cheng Lan-ping and "Weixian de Yuyan, Po 'Runbayue' de Misi" (A Dangerous Prediction. Let us Destroy the "August 1995") by Lin Yu-fang, allow us, on the one hand, to measure the gap which exists between policies as they are actually carried out, and the perception that the Taiwanese public has of them. On the other hand, they show to what extent the debate about strategy has become a basic element of the debate about internal policy. What is more serious is that the former has become a sort of hostage to the latter. |
