| Abstract | Hong Kong is not in itself an ancient city. But some parts of it - such as today's bustling and globally famous Stanley Market shopping area - have been inhabited since long before recorded history. Archaeologists are not sure exactly when the Stanley district was first settled but, like some other seafaring communities in the territory, it may well date back to the Bronze Age, and possibly beyond. |
