| Abstract | The main theme of this paper is to discuss that the gender dimension is being neglected in dealing with housing problems of female clients. This makes our welfare services ineffective, or in many cases, even exacerbated the problems. It is argued that most of these problems are not due to individual inadequacy but are socially constructed in our welfare system and the society at large. We must re-orientate our welfare policies and practices fundamentally - paying more attention to gender dimension - before there is any hope of solving these problems. |
