| Abstract | The banking and monetary systems of China and Hong Kong will become closer while remaining distinct. This will be manifested in supervisory cooperation, training programmes, cross-border lending, linkages between high-value payment systems and entry of domestic banks into each other's market. On the latter three state-owned Chinese banks have recently been licensed to set up branches in Hong Kong. |
