| Abstract | For the first year, or rather 18 months running, not a single fatal air accident or hijacking has occurred among mainland airlines - all part of a young industry that has had its share of problems over the previous seven years. Given the industry's dizzying growth and understandable shortage of managerial talent and training, the past year or so has marked considerable progress. Indeed, it saw Air China, national flagship of the industry, win an international award for the first time. |
