| Abstract | An errant Chinese satellite will hurtle to earth some time in the next few weeks after spinning out of control more than two years ago. And unlike most space hardware, it is designed to survive the perils of atmospheric re-entry intact. If the FSWI satellite hits an urban area it could cause widespread damage - although the odds favour a harmless splashdown over the 70 per cent of the planet covered by ocean. |
