| Abstract | The development of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is to address the need of a high speed network transport protocol. It has stimulated substantial interest in Hong Kong despite telecommunications experts believing the versatility of the technology and the number of organizations experimenting with it is limited. In Hong Kong, tertiary institutions, such as the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, are the places where ATM technology is being installed. Still, universities are using it on a tentative basis. |
