| Abstract | Hong Kong did not start the year looking particularly cheap compared with the other Asian bourses. The Hang Seng Index was already up a solid 22 per cent at the end of 1995 versus a miserly one per cent gain in Singapore and losses in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok and Manila. In recent weeks it has outperformed those competitors by a factor of three. |
