Article TitlePatten looks long-term.
Is Part OfHong Kong business annual ; 1996, p.134.
AbstractPerhaps reassuringly, the Governor, Chris Patten, seems to echo concern over quick fix solutions. Addressing a joint luncheon of Hong Kong chambers of commerce, he expressed his surprise at remarks attributable to the business community that the government should attempt to "kick start" the economy and spend its way to faster economic growth and full employment. Patten stressed that the government would not take short-term measures which, he said, would damage the long-term competitiveness and flexibility of the economy.
