| Abstract | There are two main determinants for the development of osteoporosis in old age. These are the peak bone mass attained in young adulthood, and the rate of bone loss with ageing. Articles in this seminar series contain essential information on bone accretion and bone loss in childhood, young adulthood, postmenopausal women, and patients treated with steroids. The epidemiology, prevention and treatment of ostepoporosis in Hong Kong Chinese is reviewed here. |
