| Abstract | China has recalled its Ambassador to the United States, Li Daoyu, for consultations, and suspended the second round of talks of the two non-official bodies on cross-Strait affairs, in retaliation for Taiwan's Lee Teng-hui visit to the US last month. Xinhua and the People's Daily separately criticized the US administration and condemned Lee for trying to create "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan." |
