| Abstract | Producers in China are buying high quality freshwater shells from the United States for pearl nuclei, a supplier in the United States said. Chief executive officer of American Shell Co Inc in Nashville, Tennessee, and director of United States Pearl Co Ltd in Hong Kong, James Peach, said the company began supplying shells to China in 1992. Supplies are to joint-venture farms with partners from Japan and China. |
