| Abstract | Property Developers have always been viewed as the big bad wolf; swallowing whole the last vestiges of countryside with scant regard for the environment. In Hong Kong they have a reputation for demolishing and rebuilding on every available plot with the sole concern of making a fast buck. The latest draft document, HK-BEAM, initiated by The Real Estate Developers Association (REDA) and researched by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU), will have enormous impact on the architecture and design professions, and perhaps prove that the big bad wolf is genuinely cleaning up its act. |
