| Abstract | During the 50th anniversary of the United nations in New York, one of the hottest tickets in town was to the business lunch in honor of President Jiang Zemin. Competition for seats was fierce as more than 600 people crowded into the ballroom at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Hundreds of businessmen were turned down for lack of space, said Jan Berris, vice-president of the National Committee on US-China Relations, one of the luncheon organizers. |
