| Abstract | As recently as November 1991, China opened its doors to foreign retailers, which had huge implications for the retail industry. As with so many aspects of China, we are witnessing history in the making. With a population of 1.2 billion and statistics such as 100 cities in China with a population of over 1 million and real GDP growth in excess of 10% p.a. over the last 10 years, it is easy to see why international retailers are attracted by China. |
