| Abstract | Alarmed by the rise in home accidents, including infant deaths and serious burns over the cooking range, the Consumer Council is looking at US-pioneered techniques to upgrade its surveillance system of defective products. The consumer watchdog is interested in acquiring the US-made National Electronic Inquiry Surveillance System, which will enable the Hongkong authorities to monitor and identify consumer products that pose risks to the territory's users. |
