| Abstract | Is the South Tsing Yi Bridge, the busy highway that provides a life-giving link for thousands of residents in the New Territories and a key transport route for goods vehicles, a monumental traffic jam waiting to happen? Some fear so. The doubts started last July, when a section of the metal joints linking the road separated, exposing a gaping 1.5 metre hole on the deck. The errant hole was quickly covered with steel plates while Tsing Yi-bound traffic was temporarily diverted. |
