| Abstract | Foreign investors will be allowed to trade selected A-shares in China's Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets by the end of this year, according to a senior official at the People's Bank of China. The central bank is putting the final touches to a two-phase policy initiative that will be seen as the mainland's first concrete steps towards merging the A-share markets - currently open only to domestic investors - with the foreigners-only, B-share markets. |
