| Abstract | Having firmly established a business empire, most prominent businessmen and women then go on to build their status in society by giving back some of what they have taken out, usually in the form of charity work or community service. Roger Lau has done both, but somehow he managed to do it in reverse. Having been a stalwart of the charity circuit for more than 10 years, his crowning achievement came when he became chairman of Yan Chai Hospital in 1991-1992 -- the youngest in the hospital's history. |
