| Abstract | Wall Street's only mortgage bond unit raked in the profits - an estimated US$800 million from 1982 to 1985. While there's no comparable conditions to rocket Hongkong's mortgage securities market to such heights, there is growing potential that it could be a sizeable and important one. Thus several firms here have put a lot of time into becoming the local specialists in the instrument despite less-than-ideal conditions and investor wariness. |
