| Abstract | Ship-to-shore communications have advanced from Morse Code to electronic mail in a little over 20 years. Three OOCL ships were used in a pilot scheme in early 1994 to test out the e-mail system. After successful trials, e-mail was progressively introduced to all 23 OOCL ships, as they made scheduled calls into port. Installation was completed at the end of 1994. |
