| Abstract | There has been much discussion recently about possible changes to the current acceptance of English as the "offical" language of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Apart from the fact that English is the language in which candidates for membership are currently assessed, and it is the language in which the Ordinance and the Constitution are written, there is nothing "official" about the general use of English. The Institution recognizes the need for change. The following article has been written as a Discussion Paper by a recent President of the HKIE. |
