| Abstract | Many parents eager to give their kids a head start can't begin soon enough. Pre-school play groups , music lessons and computer classes can put the little ones on the fast track to success. But for some parents, blessing children with an auspicious birthday is like fixing the race. That may explain why Chinese couples in such places as Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan bore children in record numbers during 1988, the Year of the Dragon. |
