| Abstract | Since 1993, serious inflation has occurred in China along with the rapid growth of the national economy. The retail price nationwide rose 13.2 percent in 1993 over that in 1992. In 1994, it is estimated to hit 18 percent, greatly exceeding the planned rate of 10 percent and registering the fourth year with a two-digit increase rate since the economic reform. |
