| Abstract | The medical social work service is an integral part of total patient-care in public hospitals in Hong Kong. At present, the service is managed under a 'dual system.' This system has given rise to a number of problems which must be addressed through organisational reform. Using survey research, the views and preferences of medical social workers as well as hospital managers and executives were obtained. Some suggestions for reform are formulated accordingly. |
