| Abstract | The proposed cuts in the Chinese quota for the US representing about a quarter by value of China's textile and clothing exports to the US. The new restrictions will directly or indirectly affect Hong Kong's joint ventures in South China in particular, as China will probably attempt to dispose if its increased export surplus in that region or in Hong Kong. The European and Asian exporters will also feel increased pressure from Chinese exports. |
