| Abstract | In Hong Kong, nearly all administrators of residential services for the elderly are social workers. Viewing that social work trained peronnels who emphasize on self-determination and personal choice of individuals may encounter conflicts when they take up the roles of administrators. For an effective administration, it normally focuses on organisational interests rather than individual interests. The study is therefore aimed at examining the scope and extent of management dilemma encountered by these administrators and as far as possible, exploring some feasible measures to tackle the problem. |
