| Abstract | With the increasing prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) seropositivity in the community, one of the public health problems receiving heightened attention is the transmission of HIV in health care settings, either from the patient to the health care worker(HCW) or from the HCW to the patient. Fear and pressure from public opinions on these issues have forced professional bodies to draw up policies to deal with the problem. |
