| Abstract | The assessment and current treatment of paracetamol (acetamiophen) poisoning are reviewed with emphasis on the significance of individual variation in metabolic activation capacity. The plasma paracetamol concentration in relation to the time since ingestion is the only reliable way to assess the risk of toxicity, and its measurement should be made in all suspected cases. |
