Article TitleThe performance of Hong Kong's insurance industry.
Is Part OfHong Kong economic report ; Nov 1992, p.1-3.
AbstractDuring the past three years, the profitability of life insurance has remained strong, while that of general insurance has been plagued by higher claims payments and provisions. Life business should continue to grow, while general business should improve in line with Hong Kong's continued economic growth. Construction of the new airport and port projects, in particular, is likely to boost general insurance business and increase demand for reinsurance services. However, most of this business is likely to go outside Hong Kong.
