AbstractThe rural, coastal village of Lei Yue Mun lies at the eastern reach of Victoria harbour. It was from its boulder-edged cliffs in 1941 that the occupying Japanese forces launched their attack on Hong Kong Island. Today, the fishing village is still characterised by a cluster of stilted buildings and is known for its seafood restaurants and fishmonger stalls.
