| Abstract | There has recently been a marked growth in the proportion of elderly people in Hong Kong's population. Most of these elderly people came from China and the majority (48.6%) stayed at public housing estates, with relatively low educational attainment. Elderly sometimes go without needed assistance that social services could provide. |
