| Abstract | The article features Wanchai's newest Mexican restaurant, Coyote Bar & Grill. Although Coyote has the largest selection of tequila and mescal in Asia, punters who weren't going for gold with Cuervo 1800 were particularly keen to get to grips with the four different kinds of Herradura and dip into a formidable slection of margaritas. Only the cacti are made in China, almost everything else having been imported from Mexico. Wooden beams traverse the whole ceiling and extend out into the street, while a hand-carved wooden column adds an appropriately Aztec undertone. Looking to introduce a contemporary element within the traditional ranch-house setting, designer Kinney Chan has decked sandstone walls with Vuni-style cut-out panels and hung high ceilings with glittering star lamps. |
