| Abstract | The article features Beijing's plans to restructure China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC), which controls 25 shipyards, into two large corporate groups to enhance the competitiveness of its shipbuilding industry in the domestic and international markets. The government has also asked the larger shipyards to set up research and development facilities of their own in addition to the six state-level priority research and development (R&D) centres. |
