| Abstract | Under the 'Preferred Graduate' Development Programme, 270 students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) were arranged to work with different companies at home and abroad over the summer in 1998. Due to the overwhelming responses, the Programme was expanded to companies on the Mainland and overseas, including Australia, Europe and the United States. At a ceremony in December 1998 to thank the 193 Partner Companies and supporting organizations of the Programme, Professor Poon Chung-kwong, President of the PolyU, was deeply encouraged by the zeal shown and generous help extended. |
