| Abstract | The article introduces dental caries (tooth decay) and the DMF index, which is widely adopted in addition to prevalence to describe the severity of dental caries. The epidemiology of dental caries in primary school children in Hong Kong between 1960-1990 is reviewed. Also, the results of the 1995 Oral Health Survey on the primary school students conducted by the Department of Health are reviewed. |
