| Abstract | In 1998, the Peking University of People's Republic of China (PRC) hosted the regional seminar of the Asian and Pacific Association for Social Work Education. The Department of Applied Social Studies (APSS) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was invited to help it embark on its mission. Thus began APSS's northward journey. As the Professor and Head of APSS, Diana Mak reviews in the article the academic exchanges and developments with Chinese academic institutions. |
