| Abstract | In an effort to develop an inspection system for gemstones and jewellery, the municipal government in southern China is drawing on the experience of the trade in Hong Kong. To learn more about the related regulations and trade practices in Hong Kong, officials at a government bureau responsible for inspecting gemstones and jewellery in Guangdong Province met with trade leaders in Hong Kong for the first time during the September Hong Kong Jewellery and Watch Fair in 1998. |
