| Abstract | In Hong Kong, "urban renewal" emerged in the 1980s, as many of the buildings erected in the 50s and 60s began to outgrow their usefulness and show signs of aging. The main agent behind urban renewal in Hong Kong is the Land Development Corporation (LDC). The article features the design of Grand Millennium Plaza, which was produced due to redevelopment of the district of Sheung Wan. |
