| Abstract | In an effort to identify what local corporations expect from their managers, The Management Development Centre of Hong Kong (MDC) has begun a study on managerial competence in the 1990s. In 1992, when MDC started research into the capabilities of a competent manager, eleven key qualities were identified as important. However, research shows that there have been changes. The article features the findings of the study. |
